One Woman’s Message to the World - Lea’s Story
March is Women's History Month — a time to honor the incredible accomplishments of women in our community, our lives, and the world around us.
Boss Babe Networking is all about giving women a voice and an opportunity to share their stories. We know the profound impact storytelling can make this is why we’re here to share inspiring stories of women making history.
The biggest piece of advice that I can give women is the same message that I have to continue to remind myself: You are a badass, you can overcome anything!
The best people to truly capture the essence of ones story is ourselves. We’ve invited Lea Flores, Founder of Lea Flores Photography to share Her Story with you today.
Here at BBN, we’re all about sharing Women’s stories. Tell us about a time you had to overcome an obstacle? What did that moment in your life teach you?
I'm Lea Flores, Wifey, Mama, Photographer, Business Owner, Podcaster, Action taker, Money Maker, God Fearing Manifesting Queen. The question of my life's mission is a big one. Ultimately, it would be to live a full life with purpose, and intention. What brings me joy is watching the first snowfall of a winter day, laying in a hammock on a warm summer night, seeing my kids evolve and grow as individuals, growing with my husband, and continuing to learn each other after 22 years of marriage. My business brings me so much joy, watching a woman's reaction when she views herself for the first time through my eyes and she begins to see what everyone else see's in her. Also, the opportunity to help others to live a full and successful life overcoming their limits.
Life is full of obstacles, and each one has taught me a very different lesson. The loss of my father at a very young age taught me how to become more self-independent. The heartache of having someone you love and trust dearly betray that trust, taught me how to forgive others more easily, as the picture of perfection does not exist in any form. Making plans and building our dream home, only to have someone burn it down, showed me that as long as the foundation is good, you can always rebuild. Also though this life offers much heartache and tribulations, if you stand with God, he always makes a plan for you on the other side of ANY circumstance.
Understand that you have a power living in you that just needs to be unleashed and when she is, there are NO LIMITS!
What do you believe is the biggest challenge women in business face?
I believe the biggest challenge for women in business is their enemy within. The insecurities we carry, doubt, and fear. If you do not work, your business doesn't work.
What did the younger version of you want to be when you grew up?
The younger version of myself didn't make a whole lot of plans if Im being 100% transparent. I went through life without intention for many years. I lived and learned as went on and not until having my first child, did I take life very seriously.
What advice would you give Women in Business?
The biggest piece of advice that I can give women is the same message that I have to continue to remind myself: You are a badass, you can overcome anything! Anything you want can and will happen if you just put forth the effort. Understand that you have a power living in you that just needs to be unleashed and when she is, there are NO LIMITS!
