From Surviving to Thriving: How My Story Changed the World

There was a time when I lived in fear. A time when my voice felt silenced, my choices controlled, and my worth diminished by the hands of someone who claimed to love me.

The bruises, both seen and unseen, were constant reminders of a cycle I never thought I’d escape. For years, I endured emotional, physical, and financial abuse. I was locked in rooms, suffocated with a pillow, strangled, threatened, and told no one would ever love me.

When I finally found the courage to leave, the battle wasn’t over. Fear lingered. The trauma echoed in the quiet moments. But something inside of me refused to let my story end there.

I knew I wasn’t alone—I knew there were other women, other survivors, who felt trapped in their own circumstances, who needed to hear that there was hope beyond survival.

That’s when I decided to reclaim my power—not just for me, but for others.

Breaking the Silence

I founded Break the Silence Against Domestic Violence, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting survivors of domestic abuse. What started as a way to share my story became a movement, reaching over 200 million people online. We provided resources, financial assistance, mentorship, and a community for those who, like me, needed to know they weren’t alone.

But my mission didn’t stop there.

Survivors don’t just need healing; they need empowerment. They need financial independence, opportunities, and a way to turn their pain into purpose. I saw how economic abuse kept so many women trapped, and I wanted to change that.

From Nonprofit Advocacy to Business Empowerment

After years in the advocacy space, I knew it was time to shift the conversation. Survivors don’t just need help getting out; they need help moving forward. That’s where Boss Babe Networking (BBN) was born.

BBN isn’t just a social media management company—it’s a mission-driven business that helps nonprofits and purpose-driven entrepreneurs tell their stories and create impact. I took my expertise in storytelling and digital marketing and turned it into a platform that amplifies voices, grows brands, and changes lives.

Now, I get to help women-owned businesses, survivors rebuilding their lives, and organizations doing meaningful work get seen and heard. Because I know firsthand what it’s like to feel invisible, and I refuse to let that happen to anyone else.

The Power of Owning Your Story

Today, I am no longer a victim. I am a business owner, an award-winning social media strategist, an advocate, and a woman who turned her pain into purpose. Every time BBN helps a business grow, every time we tell a story that sparks change, I’m reminded why I started this journey.

Your story has power. Your voice matters. And no matter where you come from, you have the ability to rewrite your future.

To every survivor, every dreamer, every entrepreneur trying to make a difference—you are not alone. And I am here to help you build something bigger than your past.

Are you ready to share your story and make an impact? Let’s create something powerful together.
